After updating their official Web site just once in 16 years, Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association leadership knew the time was more than ripe for a change. The association requested funding from the Advocates of the AOA through the annual Special Projects Grant Program and received $750 toward the redesign of www.ioma.org. The group enlisted the help of web development firm DWebware for the design project and several upgrades were enacted to make the site more accessible and user-friendly. According to IOMA Executive Director Leah McWilliams, there are still several updates needed to enhance the experience of the site’s users. “We still have a few more items to work on which will take more time such as social media connections, group discussion boards and RSS feeds,” McWilliams said. “We are still continuing to work towards those updates. Staff training has begun and continues as we learn more about the features of the website.” The group will seek additional funding for the project as they have received a formal proposal for a $10,000–$15,000 scope of work from DWebware.
